We established Perfection Cattery in CFA in 1978. Our first show cat was an Abyssinian, Valley's Little Cougar. We were hard bitten by the show bug at his first show as a kitten where he made 3 Best AB Kittens in a little 4 ring show. Cougie was neutered and went on to be a Grand Premier in CFA. Shortly thereafter, we were given an Ebony Oriental Shorthair and then obtained a Red Pt. Colorpoint Shorthair male and our breeding program began. We bred and showed both Abyssinians and Oriental Shorthairs for about 8 years. We bred many Grand Champion and Premiers and achieved numerous Regional wins with both breeds. In 1986, we drastically cut back and stopped breeding to concentrate on teenagers and jobs.
In 2009, we decided to get another Aby and started showing him. It naturally led to getting another Oriental that we also showed in Premiership. That cat is GP, RW San-Toi Beameupspotty of Perfection and made 2 consecutive top 10 Regional wins and 2 consecutive top 10 Premiership Breed awards. In February, 2011, we got GC, RW Injoi's Red-Y or Not-Y and she came to us bred to GC Injoi's Small Town Dude, DM. Five beautiful kittens, pictured above, were born April 6, 2011. From that litter there were 3 Grand Champions, and one of them, GC, NW Injoi's Calypso of Perfection, DM (Cal-Y) gave us our first National Win in the 2011-2012 season as CFA's 25th Best Kitten. She was also 6th Best Kitten in the Southwest Region. With only a few shows as an adult remaining in the season, she still made a Regional Adult win as 13th Best Cat. In the 2015-2016 show season, 3 of her offspring obtained their grand championship or grand premiership titles. Combined with the 3 previous offspring that had attained their grand titles, it gave her the title of Distinguished Merit or DM. We have never been so proud of anything as much as Cal-Y earning that most coveted title. She is now happily retired as the Empress of the Olsen household.
We have spent the last few years trying to work with lines that are healthy and will produce beautiful kittens as well. Those lines are Injoi, Leggs, and Argentia with many fine catteries behind those lines. All of our kittens are born in our master bedroom and learn early on to socialize with humans. It's not long before they are finding the comforts and warmth of the human bed. They don't leave home until they have become snuggle bunnies.
We will remain a small cattery with breedings probably only occurring once a year per female. Most kittens are placed in pet homes to enrich the lives of their human parents. We may occasionally place show and breeding kittens with responsible breeders. Inquiries will be promptly responded to.
